The Institute of Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work (IPPSW) was established on September 1, 2008 as an educational and scientific subdivision of the Ryazan State University named for S.A. Yesenin. The Institute includes departments of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology and a university-wide Department of Psychology. 85% of the Institute’s lecturers are candidates and doctors of sciences.
The goal of the Institute is to integrate the scientific and educational potential of the departments to improve the quality of training of competent professionals in the system of three-level higher education.
IPPSR continues to train specialists for the modern education system: teachers of preschool and additional education, elementary school teachers with 2 profiles, pedagogical psychologists, speech therapists, social work specialists, special psychologists, masters in “Pedagogical Education,” “Social Work,” “Psychology,” “Psychological and Pedagogical Education”.
The departments of the Institute participate in professional training of general education teachers in all specialties, as well as teachers for colleges, specialized secondary educational institutions and universities.
In 2025, the Institute enrolls applicants in 6 directions and 9 profiles of bachelor's training, as well as in 4 directions of master's training.
