The Department of personality psychology, special psychology and correctional pedagogy was established in 2004.
The department trains highly qualified specialists in the field of special (defectological) education, speech therapy, special psychology, personality psychology, and management.
The main research areas of the department are personality and its manifestations in speech activity, psychological and pedagogical support for people with developmental disabilities.
The high research capabilities of the department are confirmed by effective postgraduate programs in general psychology, personality psychology, and history of psychology.
To implement educational and research tasks, the department develops partnerships with Russian University of People’s Friendship (RUDN), specialized regional institutions: special correctional schools and boarding schools, centers for social rehabilitation of disabled persons, psychological, pedagogical, medical and social assistance, work of psychological, medical and pedagogical commissions and other institutions.
