Entrance tests

Entrance tests are conducted in the Russian language.

Entrants to the postgraduate program take two exams - foreign language and a special discipline in accordance with Appendix 1 (List of scientific specializations and entrance tests for postgraduate training programs.pdf) to the Admission Rules.

The programs of entrance tests at admission to training programs of training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies are formed on the basis of the federal state educational standards of higher education on the programs of specialist or master’s degree.

Entrance examinations at the University are conducted orally with the applicants drawing exam cards.

The level of knowledge of the entrant is assessed by an examination board. Each entrance test is evaluated separately.

The results of the entrance test are formalized by a protocol, which records the questions of examiners to the applicant. A separate protocol is kept for each applicant.

Protocols of admission tests after approval shall be kept in the personal case file of the applicant.

The decision of the examination commission shall be posted on the official website and on the information board of the Admissions Committee no later than three days from the date of the entrance test.

Retaking entrance examinations is not allowed. The results of passed examinations are valid for a calendar year.

Persons who did not appear at the entrance test for a valid reason (illness or other circumstances confirmed by documents), are allowed to take them in other groups or individually during the entrance period.

In case of non-compliance with the procedure for conducting entrance tests, members of the examining committee conducting the entrance test, have the right to remove the entrant from the place of the entrance test with the drawing up of the act of removal. In the case of removal of the entrant from the entrance test, the University shall return the accepted documents to the applicant.

Persons who withdrew the documents after the completion of admission of documents or did not receive at the entrance test a score confirming successful completion of the entrance test, are removed from the competition.

According to the results of the entrance test, an applicant has the right to appeal to the Appeals Commission on violation, in the opinion of the applicant, the established procedure for conducting the entrance test and (or) disagreement with the received assessment of the results of the entrance test.

An appeal is filed in one of the ways specified in Paragraph 29 of the Rules.

The University performs consideration of such appeals. In the course of consideration of an appeal it checks compliance with the established procedure for conducting the entrance test and/or correctness of evaluation of the results of the entrance test.

Appeals shall be filed on the day of announcement of the results of the entrance test or within the next working day. An appeal about the violation of the established procedure for conducting the entrance test can also be filed on the day of the entrance test.

Consideration of the appeal shall be held no later than the next working day after the day of its submission.

The entrant has the right to be present during the consideration of the appeal.

After consideration of the appeal, the Appeal Commission shall make a decision to change the assessment of the results of the entrance test or leave the said assessment unchanged.

Formalized protocol decision of the Appeal Commission shall be brought to the attention of the applicant in the manner provided in Paragraph 29 of these Rules.
