The Department of computer science, computer engineering and methods of teaching CS was established in 1987 as an institute-wide Department of computer science and computer engineering.
The mission of the department is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology. The priority is formation of competencies in programming, administration of databases and information systems, and artificial intelligence.
The department annually organizes and holds the National Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation "Prospects for the Digital Transformation of Education"
forms and publishes an inter-university collection of scientific papers "Informatics and Applied Mathematics", which presents the results of scientific research of teachers, master's students, postgraduate students and employees of organizations and institutions specializing in various fields of CS and applied mathematics, in the fields of computing and measurement technology.
