The Department of world history and international relations was founded in 1939, so it is one of the oldest departments in the Ryazan Region.
Such prominent historians as K.A. Malafeev, V.M. Kostikov, Yu.I. Losev, and S.V. Demidov made a significant contribution to the development of the department and historical education.
Scientific research includes aspects of ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary history of the countries of the West and the East, historiography of modern and contemporary history of Europe and America, theory and history of international relations.
The results of scientific research are used in the educational process, including development of special courses devoted to current issues in the context of the modern geopolitical situation.
