The department of linguistics of European and Oriental languages trains translators with a wide range of specializations. The department develops a methodology for teaching translation, which is immediately tested during practical classes. All the theoretical disciplines are designed and taught with consideration for the specifics of the department. The lecturers employ new forms and methods, combining them with an original approach to the content and structure of the program.
In 2019, as part of long-term cooperation with Changchun University (People’s Republic of China), an agreement was signed on the creation and implementation of a joint master's program in the field of "Pedagogical education - Methodology of teaching a foreign language and translation". This increases the competitiveness of the program participants, and also contributes to the academic mobility of lecturers and students.
The department members participate in the implementation of additional professional education programs "Translator in the field of professional communication" for a number of specialties and areas of training.
The department hosts the Center for Oriental languages and cultures, which implements an additional education program in the Japanese language.
