A.N. Sukhov and E.N. Gorokhova made significant contributions to the development of the department.
The department's research focuses on the history of psychology, social psychology, humanistic pedagogy and psychology, health psychology, comparative pedagogy, research on social health issues, problems of counseling psychology and psychology of deviant behavior.
The department has created conditions for students to acquire fundamental knowledge in the field of psychology, to develop general cultural and professional competencies, and acquire high moral and ethical qualities.
The student volunteer group "Mercy", created at the department, is aimed at solving significant social problems by supporting people in difficult life situations and persons with disabilities, and organizing cultural events in social institutions.
The department actively cooperates with educational and social institutions in the region.
