The Department of humanities and natural sciences and methods of teaching them was established on the initiative of the Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, a prominent scientist and methodologist G.N. Pristupa in 1979 as the Department of methodology in primary education.
Significant contributions to the development of the department were made by G.N. Pristupa, V.N. Grigorenko, S.A. Samsikov, N.I. Demidova, A.I. Ivanov, T.I. Mishina.
The research interests of the department lie in current issues of humanities and sciences and methods of teaching them in schools and universities.
The department graduates teachers with two training profiles: Primary Education and English Language
Primary education and Computer Science.
Members of the department annually participate in the Pedagogical Forum, conduct master classes for primary school teachers, participate in scientific conferences, lead scientific societies, organize civic-patriotic and spiritual-moral events (students’ Winter Ball Party, PRO-family festival, literary quests, salons dedicated to great writers and poets, etc.).
